This painting holds a special place in my heart. In the summer of 2014 my stepdad underwent open heart surgery on Vancouver Island. My daughter, Kirsten, made the drive to the island on her own from the interior of BC. As we live in a small town she was not prepared to drive solo through Vancouver on her first trip. She chose the Duffey Lake Road for its beautiful scenery and lower traffic volume. The favorable weather provided an amazing view of Duffey Lake and the mountains beyond with fireweed in full bloom at the roadside.
Pleased to share that Journey for the Heart was juried into the Federation of Canadian Artists 2021 Chapter Challenge exhibition.
