In the summer of 2016 we found ourselves on our first overnight hike. After seeing the very beautiful San Josef Bay stacks on Instagram, my husband and I decided to venture beyond our local hiking trails and planned a 4 night – 5 day hike to Cape Scott on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island. This painting was inspired by a view of Nels Bight, looking back through the trees on our way to the lighthouse.
