I have visited the scenic Farwell Canyon in the Cariboo Chilcotin a handful of times since learning of its existence and I am taken with this sightseeing destination every time. The beautiful Chilcotin River carves a winding path along the canyon floor, slipping past a number of hoodoos and the largest sand dune in British Columbia, all surrounded by sandy plateaus complete with grasses, sagebrush, and small cacti. This is the third painting I have created from my last visit to Farwell Canyon in 2020.
***Best to visit after spring runoff to ensure the water has returned to its gorgeous milky turquoise colour.
Sagebrush and Sand will be on exhibition at the Quesnel Art Gallery from August 1 to August 29, 2024 in the Five Explore the Cariboo Group Show.
